Edward Watson Close
St. Giles Charity owns a small development of one bedroom almshouse bungalows (constructed in 1995) in a cul-de-sac adjacent to Nicholas Rothwell House.
As almshouses, the bungalows are occupied under license and residents pay a maintenance charge.
There is no warden for the bungalows but they are linked into Northampton Borough Council’s emergency call care system. Residents need to be relatively independent and take responsibility for arranging for any necessary support, e.g. from relatives, healthcare staff, etc.
The Trustees of the Charity are responsible for the maintenance and external decoration of the bungalows, which are fully fitted with bathrooms and kitchen appliances, but not furniture. Residents are responsible for the payment of Council Tax, metered electricity and water charges, telephone charges, and TV licence.
The keeping of pets is at the discretion of the trustees, and residents must obtain prior approval.
Further details can be obtained by writing to Loraine Garrard, St. Giles Charity Estates, Nicholas Rothwell House, 290 Harborough Road, Northampton, NN2 8LR.
